The second week of the program will focus on expanding on the cosmetic industry bases of formulation and product development. Innovation in the industries will be explored with a focus on post covid product trends.
1. Cosmetic Innovations - 2 Hours
The beauty industry has always experienced innovation and reinvention, and the past year has been no exception. With the growing trends like clean beauty to personalized skincare and AI cosmetics solutions, there are many new trends in the cosmetic industry worth exploring. This course will focus on new trend predictions as well as current trends.

Product development starts now! The course will go over the stages of cosmetic product development. From the laboratory and to the ingredients that can implement into the product for maximum benefit and efficacy. We look at the best ways a small business can develop cosmetic products and gain access to resources that will not break your budget.

4. Case Studies – Colour Cosmetic Brands - 2 Hours
A case study is a detailed study of a specific subject, such as a person, group, event or business. Case studies provide an inside view of how others have succeeded or failed. It is important to study the footsteps of others to keep up in the industry race. This case study will go over 4 colour cosmetic companies that are well established in North America Case studies are essential business research methods for business success. The following companies will be analyzed; Eyeko, CheekBone Beauty, Nudesticks, and Anastasia Beverly Hills.
5. Cosmetic Regulatory - 2 Hour
This course will be an essential step to succeeding in the cosmetic market. No cosmetics can be successful without regulation. In Canada, the Cosmetic Regulations and the Food and Drugs Act require that cosmetics sold in Canada are manufactured, prepared, preserved, packed and stored under sanitary conditions. We will go over the steps of product notification for Health Canada.
