A Week of Innovation, Collaboration, and Celebration: Highlights from the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster’s Journey to Cosmetic 360
The 10th anniversary of Cosmetic 360 was nothing short of spectacular, offering an incredible platform to celebrate a decade of innovation, collaboration, and growth within the global cosmetics industry. This year, the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster led a delegation of exceptional companies to Paris, embarking on a week-long journey filled with cultural exploration, groundbreaking insights, and moments of celebration.
The week began with a tour of Paris, providing our delegation with the opportunity to experience the city’s vibrant culture and rich history. Visits to iconic locations like Samaritaine, the french pharmacy in Les Halles, Monoprix and others. This gave us a unique glimpse into Paris’ retail landscape, blending historical significance with modern consumer trends. Alongside our partners from Colombia, Japan, and the UK, we embarked on private tours to industry landmarks such as Fragonard, where we delved into the art of fragrance-making. These visits were not only enlightening but also laid the groundwork for valuable connections and collaborations.
On Tuesday, October 15th, the week took an international turn with a day-long tour that began at Place Colette in Paris. The delegation visited the innovative Aircos and Pascual companies, gaining first-hand insight into their groundbreaking work. The tour continued at the Château d’Asnières, where attendees enjoyed a short tour of its exhibitions before a networking lunch in a sophisticated setting. The day culminated in the General Assembly of the Global Cosmetics Cluster, held in the magnificent Orangerie of the château. This cornerstone event brought together leaders and visionaries from around the world to discuss key initiatives, share successes, and set the stage for the future of the cosmetics industry. A standout moment of the assembly was a presentation by Yann Chilvers, co-founder of Covalo, who shared cutting-edge insights into upcoming trends, leaving the audience inspired and energized for the path ahead.
On the 16th of October we had the official start of Cosmetic 360 was marked by a grand opening ceremony led by French Industry Minister Marc Ferracci and Marc-Antoine Jamet. Their inspiring remarks highlighted the importance of sustainability and international cooperation in shaping the future of cosmetics. For the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster, the day was further enriched by a visit from Hélène Le Diouron, Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Paris. Hélène’s presence at our pavilion brought invaluable insights and support, as she engaged with our delegates, offering advice on navigating the French market and building strategic partnerships. Her expertise in helping Canadian companies establish themselves in France was instrumental in guiding our cluster’s efforts.
This year, Cosmetic 360 launched its inaugural International Cosmetics Excellence Competition, showcasing 15 pavilions from five continents. Each region highlighted its unique ecosystem, focusing on training, public research, local initiatives, and know-how. The celebration culminated in a medal ceremony where the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster was proud to receive two prestigious medals: one for Local Support and another for Canada’s cultural knowledge thanks to the amazing contributions of Tribalure. These honors underscored the dedication and collaborative spirit that define our work as a cluster, celebrating the collective achievements of our team and partners.
As the week drew to a close, it became clear that Cosmetic 360 is more than a trade show; it is a global celebration of innovation and collaboration. This year’s 10th anniversary marked the beginning of a new chapter, transforming the event into an international week of cosmetic excellence. From the opening ceremonies to the Olympic-style parade and medal awards, every moment highlighted the passion and commitment of the global cosmetics community. As we look ahead to next year, with a focus on the blue economy and sustainability, we are deeply grateful for the connections, inspiration, and recognition we received during this unforgettable journey.
