Cosmetic Week 2023
On the first day of Cosmetic week, all of the global cluster delegates for an introductory dinner. This was a moment to get to know then other clusters and to make not just business connections but life long friends.
We learned about the region Cergy-Pontoise and its value for cosmetic companies.
On October the 17th the Global Cosmetic Cluster and Cosmetic Valley organized the International day tour. The day started off with a visit to Senisent. Sensient Beauty is the world leader in manufacturing active ingredients for cosmetics. We are a global distributor of active ingredients for any and all beauty products. After the factory visit we learned about the town of Cergy-Pontoise and how it works with Cosmetic Valley. We followed this with the Global Cosmetic Cluster General Assembly. It was a wonderful moment to be both physically and virtually present with the Global Clusters. There was also a wonderful presentation by Mintel on Cosmetic Trends. The last stop of the day was the Abbey of Maubuisson. Located in the commune of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, in the Val-d'Oise, the abbey of Maubuisson is a former Cistercian abbey of women belonging today to the County Council. The site was founded in the first half of the 13th century, in 1236, by Blanche of Castile. After losing its religious function under Louis XVI, in 1786, the abbey became a military hospital in 1793, then serves as a stone quarry in the early nineteenth century. The buildings that remain then serve as farm and spinning. Now classified as an historic monument, the site now houses a contemporary art center open to the public.

Cosmetic 360 Is Full Of Innovation
The first day of the Cosmetic 360 was on October the 18th. We had the honour of opening the show with Christophe Béchu, the Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion of France. The focus of the show was Cleantech and how we need sustainable options in the cosmetic industry as we continue to grow. The show was filled with many innovative cosmetic companies that represented the supply chain of the industry. This show is wonderful for networking and has many interesting educational conferences.
In the evening there was a Gala at the Bel Canto. This was a great evening with industry professionals and Opera singers! Next year we will have the Gala at the Moulin Rouge.

Bordeaux Symposium
On October the 20th we held the Symposium in Bordeaux. We will have lectures on various topics on sustainability and we will learn about business development in the Bordeaux Region. We will visit a cosmetic business in Bordeaux in the late afternoon after the event.
Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Tour
On October the 21st we visited the Château Smith Haut Lafitte. We had a private tour of both the vineyard and cellar. Château Smith Haut Lafitte plants vines propagated from their own vineyards thanks to their vine nursery on Ile de Lalande. Surrounded by forests, hedges, and hives, the 87 hectares, one block estate is standing alone as a green island. Covered with Gravels, the vines are digging at more than 6 meters deep their resources, and the grapes benefit from the stones’ mirror effect from the sun for a perfect ripening. The soil gives the wines extraordinary characteristics.
